This book began as a special project in collaboration with McGill University and the Montreal Oral School for the Deaf (MOSD). In diving into the research needed to meet the standards at McGill University, I found nothing. Nothing on what it looks like to teach children with hearing loss. Nothing on teaching yoga and mindfulness to children with hearing loss. Nothing to set the foundation for me and this project that was on my heart in a big way.
So I built the foundation.
When I began teaching yoga and mindfulness to the students at the MOSD, I had no idea that this book was going to be the first of its kind.. literally. But here we are and here it is - the first of its kind.
I hope Teaching Yoga & Mindfulness to Children with Hearing Loss serves you in the best way and that, using the information and resources within these pages, you are able to bring the practices of yoga and mindfulness into your space in the most inclusive way possible.
